Conventional treatment or relief of an allergy
is most commonly directed at blocking the immune response, or in
more severe cases, at suppressing the entire immune function with
steroids, both systemic and topical. While this approach can provide
symptomatic relief, it does nothing to address the underlying cause
of the problem. Allergy sufferers often become dependant on their
medication, they can suffer from numerous side effects, without
properly getting the allergy relief that they need, and more
importantly, they may worsen their overall health by constantly
suppressing their immune system.
All though antihistamines are often used to give the patient some relief, it doesn’t get to the root of the problem. This is a classic example of the drug companies wanting to push their expensive drugs, other wise known as (band-aids ). Rather than just covering up the problem using a drug, it is important to recognize, that symptoms causing allergies are a warning sign that something is causing the allergic reaction.
There are many tests that can be done by a medical professional, or even some that you can do which will help you know what the cause of the problem is and how to find the correct relief. Prescription drugs are often used. There are also many natural and homeopathic remedies that can give you relief or even cure the allergy.
I have spent the last twenty years researching information on allergies and their relief’s. My three children, and myself all have allergies. The youngest one was allergic to ninety-seven different types of foods. It took a lot of reading many books to first find him relief, then the cure. He no longer has allergies to any food. That was a very celebrated time in our lives. If you suffer from a food allergy, it is only by addressing the whys of your food allergy that you can hope to actually solve the problem.
When the allergy and the relief research is about you or a loved one, the reading material is invaluable. You can’t ever be too educated on the ins and outs of allergies. This will only help you to find all the different options that you have. We discovered that a sudden asthma attack could be helped with drinking strong coffee. A few days at the ocean swimming in salt water worked wonders on my kid’s eczema. We are all very different people, what works for one person may not necessarily work for others.
I have complied a list of resources about allergies and allergy relief that may help you learn more about your allergy and be able to cure it. To find the true cause of your allergy is not always easy. Each one is a bit different and since people respond differently to different things, it would be valuable to keep trying different approaches until you find the one that is right for you. There are many natural cures as well.

What really is an allergy?
An allergy is a sensitivity to a normally harmless substance.
These substances can be almost anything. Pollen, animal dander,
mites, certain foods, a drug or insect bites to name just a few.
People of all life styles can develop an allergy, and at any age.
Some of us may only have one where others suffer from many.
Unfortunately this sensitivity can in extreme cases be deadly Many scientists believe that allergies may be an
inherited tendency. Allergies can also develop from exposure to
allergens during times when a person’s body defenses are low, such
as from a viral infection or from repeated exposure to the same
allergen Many allergens can be avoided, such as drugs, food
and animals. Scientists are continuing to work on methods to help
those who suffer from allergies. Some allergic reactions may be minimized by reducing exposure where possible. Closing the windows when lawns are being mowed can reduce the reaction by persons with sensitivity to grasses for instance.
Common allergens
